Ms. Brubaker - Pathology

In 2011, Dennis obtained presuit settlements totalling $2.07 million for Ms. Brubaker, who was injured as a result of misdiagnosis of pathology slides that caused a one-year delay in the diagnosis of osteosarcoma (bone cancer).

Confidential Settlement - Obstetrical Care

In 2011, Dennis obtained presuit settlements totaling $1.8 million for the survivors of a woman who died as a result of errors that occurred in the delivery of her first child.

Dr. David Buby - Spinal Surgery

In late 2010, Dennis obtained settlements totalling $1.35 million for Dr. Buby, a retired physician, who suffered neurological injuries from delayed diagnosis and surgical treatment of a severely herniated lumbar disk.

Mrs. Fisher - Orthopedic Surgery

In a medical malpractice case arising out of a foot-drop injury in Pasco County, Dennis obtained an award of $2.475 million on behalf of his client. This award is believed to be one of the largest medical malpractice awards in Pasco County history. Because the award was the result of a confidential arbitration proceeding, the names of the physician and medical group cannot be disclosed.

Confidential Settlement - Emergency Medicine

In late 2009, Dennis obtained a $2 million settlement for a client who was injured by failure of an emergency room to provide proper diagnosis and treatment for a low-back injury.

Confidential Settlement - Anesthesiology

Settlements totalling $5.25 million were obtained in a case litigated by Dennis as a result of the failure of a nurse anesthetist and anesthesiologist to timely respond to severe hypotension (low blood pressure) during administration of general anesthesia, resulting in the patient's prolonged coma and subsequent death.

Richard N. Baumgartner - Breach of Trust

A Pinellas County jury determined that Mr. Baumgartner's trust had been mismanaged and awarded a verdict of $4.5 million.

William Perry - Vascular Surgery

Pinellas County jury determined that Mr. Perry's wrongful death was the result of medical malpractice. His daughter received a judgment and attorney's fee totaling over $2 million.

Patricia Barlow - Psychiatry

Ms. Barlow's psychiatric malpractice action was settled for policy limits of $1 million on the second day of trial in 2009. Her total recovery was $1.15 million, including a pretrial settlement with another defendant.

Giuseppe Vellucci - Emergency Medicine, Interventional Radiology, & Vascular Surgery

Mr. Vellucci's medical malpractice action against multiple medical specialists arose out of a below-the-knee amputation caused by a delay in treating blood clots in his right foot. This hard-fought case resulted in pretrial settlements totaling $1.33 million.

Peggy Schatz  - Sclerotherapy and Vascular Surgery

Ms. Schatz was injured by a lower-leg injection that resulted in a condition known as compartment syndrome.  In a combined medical-malpractice and products-liability case case against three groups of defendants, Dennis obtained confidential settlements totaling $2.04 million for Ms. Schatz.

Settlements totaling $1.7 million were obtained from two cardiologists in a case that Dennis brought on behalf of a patient severely injured by the cardiologists' failure to timely treat a postoperative complication from a cardiac procedure.

Settlements totaling over $1.5 million were obtained in a case that Dennis brought on behalf of a patient severely injured by the failure of a hospital and physicians to timely render proper treatment to a patient hospitalized for a stroke.
